Associate of Arts Degree - English

The Associate of Arts Degree in English at Capilano University is a two-year, 60-credit credential with a literature specialization, including 18 first- and second-year English credits. Students choose from courses covering English, Canadian and American literature, literary theory and criticism, studies in fiction, children's literature and creative writing. The remaining credits are made up of elective courses in the humanities, laboratory science and social science, giving students a broad arts and sciences foundation alongside their literature studies. Writing support is available through the university's Writing Centre, offering in-person and online sessions. On completion of the two-year degree, students can apply their credits toward any of Capilano University's fifteen bachelor's degree programmes. The programme is delivered at the North Vancouver campus, with admission in the Fall, Spring and Summer terms.
