Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Associate of Arts Degree in History is a 60-credit undergraduate credential offered by the Faculty of Arts. Within the university's Associate of Arts Degree framework, students complete at least 21 credits of History coursework: a minimum of 12 credits from core courses covering Canadian, world, American, and East Asian history along with medieval and early-modern Europe, and a minimum of 9 credits from History courses numbered 2300 or higher. Students may focus on a particular geographic region, though KPU recommends completing as broad a range of History courses as possible, and advises completing the degree's English requirements within the first two semesters given the reading- and writing-intensive nature of History courses. A minimum grade of C is required in each course, and all courses must be transferable to Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia, the University of Northern British Columbia, or the University of Victoria. The credential can serve as an entry pathway into KPU's Bachelor of Arts, Major in History, which itself requires only six credits of first-year and six credits of second-year History. Intakes run in September, January, and May.

Admission Requirements: Admission follows KPU's general undergraduate entrance requirements together with the Faculty of Arts' Admission Requirements, which the calendar states consist only of KPU's undergraduate English Proficiency Requirement; no additional subject-specific admission criteria are listed for this program, and the same standard applies to domestic and international applicants.
