Overview
The History Associate of Arts Degree is a two-year, 60-credit university-transfer credential at Selkirk College's Castlegar campus covering the study of past societies and their connection to present-day issues in Canada and internationally. Coursework is organized across four terms and combines history courses with the general-education requirements shared across Selkirk's Associate of Arts degrees. Delivered on campus, with intakes in Fall, Winter and Spring, the associate degree is a formally established, province-wide-recognized credential. Graduation requires completion of 60 credits of university-level study in selected areas with an overall GPA of 2.0. The degree is a pathway to a Bachelor of Arts in History and to careers in research and writing, government, law, politics and education at all levels; students continuing to another institution should confirm course transferability through the BC Transfer Guide.
Requirements

Students whose first language is not English must fulfil Selkirk's English-language-proficiency requirement under Policy 8611, Appendix A; no specific IELTS or TOEFL score is published for this program. Intakes are offered in Fall, Winter and Spring.
