Overview
This 60-credit diploma program provides graduates with diverse computing knowledge to meet the computer and information system needs of organizations of all sizes. The program is designed to provide graduates with a solid foundation in computer systems and user support, network administration, systems design and foundational programming. The Computer Information Systems programs (CISY) offer a unique practitioner-oriented approach to systems support and software development. Computer Information Systems courses are offered by the Computer Science and Information Technology department.

Admission Requirements: In addition to the Melville School of Business's admission requirement — KPU's undergraduate English Proficiency Requirement — this Computer Information Systems diploma requires satisfying Level E1 of KPU's Mathematics Alternatives Table, met by Pre-Calculus 11 at C, Foundations of Mathematics 11 at C+, IB Mathematics (Analysis & Approaches or Application & Interpretation) SL at 3 or C+, a Math Placement Test score of 46 or higher, or MATQ 1089 at C+. That requirement is met by BC English Studies 12, English First Peoples 12 or Literary Studies 12 at a minimum grade of C+ (or IB English HL/SL at 3, or AP English Language/Literature at 2), or by one of IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with no sub-score below 20, PTE Academic 61, CAEL 70 with no sub-score below 60, or Duolingo English Test 110, each taken within two years of the admission term. Once admitted, the diploma requires a minimum of 60 credits of required courses, or 79 credits with the Co-operative Education option, but that is the credential's curricular requirement rather than a condition of admission.
