Overview
This Horticulture Technology Diploma program combines theory and technique with best horticulture practice. Students learn how to use the tools and technologies that are an everyday part of industry workplace. The program also provides students with a foundation in horticulture science where students develop an understanding of the environmental requirements for optimum plant growth. All students must undertake a minimum 455 hours of 'Work Experience', typically completed between first and second year. This provides opportunity for students to apply their new skills and identify where their careers may lie after graduating.

Admission Requirements: This programme's admission section states only that the Faculty of Science's Admission Requirements apply, consisting of KPU's undergraduate English Proficiency Requirement, with no diploma-specific academic prerequisites beyond it. Applicants are advised that a minimum of Mathematics 11 Foundations at a C, or equivalent, is expected in order to complete the diploma without first taking preparatory coursework. The English standard is met through any one route: BC English Studies 12, English First Peoples 12 or Literary Studies 12 at a minimum C+; three credits of post-secondary English at a minimum C-; or a recognised test taken within the last two years, including IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 88 with no section below 20, PTE 61, Duolingo English Test 110, CAEL 70, or LanguageCert Academic 70. To declare the diploma, students must be in good academic standing and have completed at least 15 credits of undergraduate coursework.

Application Deadline:KPU classifies most programs as Open Intake, meaning every applicant who meets minimum institutional requirements is admitted without ranking, while a smaller set of Limited Intake programs closes earlier.
