Overview
Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Diploma in Front-End Development for Interactive Applications is a 60-credit, two-year undergraduate program in the Faculty of Design for students new to both design and coding. Delivered across four terms, the curriculum covers five focus areas: web fundamentals and front-end coding principles; design fundamentals, UI/UX, and prototyping; project management and professional development; specializations in motion design and data visualization; and an integration studio with capstone courses. Students study responsive web design, front-end and back-end web programming, front-end frameworks and libraries, and design systems for interactive applications, working alongside Graphic Design for Marketing students on cross-disciplinary projects. Industry mentors sit on the program's Advisory Committee and take part in critiques and mentorship throughout. Graduates leave with industry connections, interview preparation tailored to front-end development including coding challenges, and a portfolio demonstrating applied design and development skills. Graduates receive a Diploma in Front-End Development for Interactive Applications.
