Admission Requirements: Highly competitive quota programme: files are assessed from 1 February and offers go out by mid-February; where eligible applicants outnumber the seats at 1 February, ranking is on school test results and/or secondary-school marks with priority to Ontario residents, and students transferring directly from Présciences de la santé also get priority. Domestic entry — Ontario: OSSD or a Canadian equivalent, or at 19 or over satisfactory scores of 250 in reading comprehension and 250 in numeracy, plus Biology SBI3C or SBI3U, Chemistry SCH4C or SCH3U, and French FRA3C or FRA3U (or the reading-comprehension test). Quebec: Biology ST 055404, STE 058404 or Biologie 534, Chemistry 051504 or Chimie 534, French 132406 or the reading test. New Brunswick: Biology 53411, Chemistry 52311, French 10331 or the reading test. Applicants who did not complete their secondary schooling in French will be asked to sit a French proficiency test. Working English is expected because of the classroom texts and because placements are mostly in Ontario. Before the start of the year: an up-to-date immunisation record and a level-C standard first aid and CPR-AED certificate (16 hours) valid for the whole programme; written proof of no criminal record is required to take part in placements. La Cité also warns that back problems or arthritis, and sensitive skin or common contact allergies, can be aggravated by the work, and that international students who have not paid their tuition in full lose their seat because places are limited. Classes and placements can fall on days, evenings and weekends. La Cite's programme-availability table for international candidates, read 6 September 2026, does not list this programme, so it is not open to international applicants.
