MA/MS in Psychology: Clinical

Lakehead University's MA in Clinical Psychology trains students as researchers, clinicians, and educators through a program grounded in science, critical thinking, and ethics. The program follows the scientist-practitioner model, combining coursework, supervised clinical training, and original research. Admission requires an Honours Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Psychology with at least second-class standing, defined by the program as a minimum 70% average. Applicants must also have completed an undergraduate thesis or equivalent research experience; those without prior coursework in advanced statistics, experimental design, or psychometrics must complete specified prerequisite courses before or during the program. Students normally complete the degree in two years of full-time study and must finish all requirements within six terms of continuous registration. The program admits students for the Fall term only. Graduates are prepared for further doctoral training or professional practice under supervision in clinical psychology settings.
