Anthropology at Lakehead University is a broad, multidisciplinary program covering the study of humans, past and present, across four sub-disciplines: archaeology, bioanthropology, linguistics, and socio-cultural anthropology. The program combines lectures, seminars, laboratory work and field research, and is offered as a three-year Bachelor's degree or a four-year Honours degree, in both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science streams. Bachelor of Science students take core biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics courses alongside anthropology coursework. Students can take part in field schools in Northwestern Ontario and through partnerships in Croatia, Israel and Italy. The program is delivered at Lakehead's Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses and can be combined with a Bachelor of Education over five to six years. Graduates pursue further study or careers in archaeology, museum and heritage work, cultural resource management, forensic anthropology and social research.
