Diploma in Practical Nursing is a diploma in Nursing programme offered by Lambton College of Applied Arts and Technology in Sarnia, Canada. The programme runs for 2 years, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition is CAD 9,743 per total for local students.
Inter-professional collaboration, evidence-informed practice and professionalism sit as foundational concepts running through this diploma, with students developing the skills, clinical judgment and knowledge base nursing requires, built through experiential learning across both simulated and genuine health care settings. Clinical experience is included in every term, spanning lab and simulation work, hospitals, and community placements across community nursing agencies, family practice clinics and long-term care homes, all aimed at developing critical thinking and therapeutic nurse-client relationships. Students use a dedicated Nursing Simulation Lab at the college's NOVA Chemicals Health & Research Centre, and must meet a program-specific set of placement requirements, including first aid and CPR certification, mask fit testing, proof of vaccination and a clean police record, before they can attend clinical placements.
