Overview
The Latin American Studies Citation, offered by Langara College's Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, is a part-time credential with a minimum duration of two years. The interdisciplinary curriculum examines the geography, culture, history, and political economy of Latin America, combining core courses taught by instructors from diverse academic backgrounds with elective courses drawn from departments across the college. All courses are university-transferable and can be applied toward the Associate of Arts Degree or the Arts and Science Diploma in Latin American Studies, or taken for general interest; many students go on to further study in Latin American Studies or a related discipline at the bachelor's level. Intake is offered in January, May, and September, with open enrolment; applicants must meet Langara College's general admission requirements. As of the Fall 2025 intake, admission to this Citation has been suspended until further notice.
