Diploma in Travel and Tourism is a diploma in Tourism & Leisure programme taught at MacEwan University in Edmonton, Canada. The programme runs for 13 months. Tuition for international students is CAD 33,876 per year (CAD 6,876 per year for local students).
Travel and Tourism at MacEwan University is a two-year diploma delivered in an accelerated 13-month format, allowing students to complete their studies more quickly than a standard two-year timeline. The curriculum prepares students for careers in the travel industry, covering communications, sales techniques, customer service, and the automated systems used in travel bookings and operations. Completion of the program aligns graduates with professional certification pathways through the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies, which has given the program a five-star rating. The accelerated structure is presented as a way for students to fast-track their studies and move into employment sooner than a traditional program timeline would allow. It suits students who are organized, detail-oriented, and flexible, qualities suited to working within the operational demands of the travel sector, including irregular scheduling and rapidly changing itineraries. The program is intended for those specifically targeting travel industry careers rather than a broader hospitality or tourism-management credential. Specific details on delivery mode, campus location, and any work-experience components are addressed through the university's separate program and admission pages rather than the general overview.
