The Bachelor of Education (Elementary) is a four-year baccalaureate degree delivered at Medicine Hat College in partnership with Mount Royal University, leading to a Mount Royal University credential. The program comprises forty courses: twenty core education courses, including two practicums, eight minor courses in the humanities, six general education courses, and four electives. Students complete the first two years of university-transfer coursework at Medicine Hat College before continuing into the professional education component. Progression to year three requires successful completion of 20 courses/60 credits of approved university-transfer coursework with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0, a minimum B (3.0) in EDTS 232 and EDTS 234, and a minimum C- (1.7) in ENGL 252 and ENGL 202 or 203.
