Overview
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) is a four-year professional degree offered at Medicine Hat College in partnership with the University of Calgary, with graduates earning a University of Calgary degree. Students complete all four years on the MHC campus, studying as Medicine Hat College students in years one and two and as University of Calgary students in years three and four. The curriculum combines classroom instruction with simulation-based learning and clinical placements across nursing specialties, including community health, acute care, pediatrics, mental health, and perinatal care. Simulation exercises are integrated throughout the program to build clinical skills before students enter placements. Graduates are prepared to write licensure examinations and register as nurses.
