Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet Memorial's general admission requirements or the School of Music's own pilot admission requirements for this programme, and must complete a performance audition (in person or on video), an assessment of musical literacy and competency, and a music-teacher reference form; full supporting-document details are set by the School of Music. One university-level English course, English 1090 or an approved critical-reading-and-writing (CRW) course, is required. Where the general admission route applies, Memorial's own general admission requirements set a minimum overall average of at least 70% across the required senior-level (Grade 12) subjects. Admission is competitive for a limited number of places, and meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet Memorial's university-wide requirement: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0 in Reading/Writing) or TOEFL iBT 83 overall with at least 20 in Reading and Writing. The Fall (September) intake has a January 15 application deadline; Winter (January) entry is for transfer students only, and a $40 CAD music supplementary application fee applies.
