Admission Requirements: Biology cannot be chosen as a major at the time of application: students first enter Memorial's Faculty of Science under the university's general admission requirements, which for a B.Sc. route also call for appropriate senior high-school courses in mathematics and a laboratory science. The biology major is admitted afterward by departmental application, normally in the second semester, and requires Biology 1001 and 1002 with an average of at least 65%, Mathematics 1090 and 1006 (or 1000) or Mathematics 1006 (or 1000) plus an elective, six credit hours of Critical Reading and Writing courses (at least three in English), and Chemistry 1050/1051 or Physics 1020 (or 1050) and 1021 (or 1051); the university requires an overall average of at least 60% across these courses. No program-specific English test scores are published; applicants whose first language is not English follow Memorial's general proficiency requirements (e.g. IELTS Academic 6.5 overall, TOEFL iBT 4.5 overall). Applications to the university are rolling, with priority deadlines of March 1 (Fall), October 1 (Winter) and February 1 (Spring).

International applicants use the same direct application to Memorial and are only advised to apply at least 12 weeks before their intended semester starts; no fixed international closing date is published. Late domestic applications are still considered as time, resources and space permit, so admission is effectively rolling past the priority date up to the final close.
