Ocean Physics at Memorial University is a Bachelor of Science major, offered with honours, that provides interdisciplinary training in physics and oceanography to study the physics of the ocean, atmosphere and climate. The curriculum connects core physics coursework with meteorology, atmospheric science and environmental science, building the foundation needed to understand large-scale ocean and climate processes. The four-year degree prepares graduates for careers in oceanographic or atmospheric research, environmental consulting, and further graduate study in physical oceanography, physics or climate science. Ocean Physics is a limited-enrolment major, so students cannot select it at the time of initial application; they are admitted to the Faculty of Science first and apply separately to declare the major once eligible. The program is delivered on the St. John's campus.
