Overview
The Bachelor of Nursing is a four-year undergraduate degree preparing students to write the NCLEX-RN and apply for registered nurse licensure. Coursework spans anatomy, pharmacology, mental health, Indigenous health and acute care, framed around health, wellness, collaborative care and community engagement. The program combines classroom study with hands-on simulators and labs and work-integrated learning, including clinical placements in hospitals, community settings and rural sites, with shifts structured to mirror real nursing practice. Students can pursue study abroad or field school experiences alongside their coursework. Before clinical placements, students must complete mask fit testing, provide immunization records, hold current CPR certification and pass a police information check. Admission is open to high school graduates, post-secondary transfer students and mature applicants, though enrolment is limited and admission is described as highly competitive. The program suits students aiming for a career as a registered nurse or in related healthcare roles who are prepared for a demanding mix of theory, lab practice and supervised clinical work across varied care settings.
