Overview
Instructor in Circus Arts leads to an Attestation of College Studies or School Attestation of Studies and prepares participants to teach circus arts to audiences of varied ages. The program totals 360 hours, split between 270 hours of coursework and a 90-hour internship that students arrange on their own, delivered over two sessions each year, in fall and winter, either in person or online. Coursework covers class management, initial training in circus techniques, supervision of performances, and the setup and teardown of circus apparatus. Admission requires a Diploma of College Studies, a university degree, or a secondary school diploma combined with relevant work or study experience, along with practical or teaching experience in one or more of circus arts, theatre, dance, or sport, and strong communication skills. The program is intended for people who already have some background in performance or teaching disciplines and want to work with the public, bringing circus activities to people of all ages, rather than pursuing performance training for its own sake.

Admission Requirements: Admission requires either a Diploma of College Studies (DEC), a university degree, or another diploma the National Circus School judges relevant; alternatively, applicants holding only the Quebec Secondary School Diploma or its equivalent qualify if they have interrupted full-time studies or completed at least two consecutive semesters of post-secondary study, together with practical or teaching experience in circus arts, theatre, dance, or sport. Applicants must have a good knowledge of French unless pursuing the programme's English-language AEE stream, and basic technological literacy is required for its online components. Required documents include a passport photo, birth certificate, secondary diploma or transcript, a CV, and citizenship or health-card documentation, with certified translation required for documents not in French or English; international applicants must obtain a CAQ, study permit and valid passport once admission is confirmed.
