Overview
The Computer Engineering Technician program began with a thorough introduction to electricity and electronics, which provided a very strong foundation upon which to further my understanding of the inner-workings of the computer itself. Now that I am in my final term here, I cannot believe how much I have learned in less than two years. Because of the hands-on experience I have gained in the lab environment, and the kindness and dedication of my professors—who, since first term, continue to ask me how I’m doing and assist me whenever I need help—I am confident I will be well prepared for my future endeavors, and I am thankful I chose Niagara College to make that happen.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with English and Mathematics both at the Grade 12 (C) or (U) level; Grade 11 (U) or Grade 12 Physics is recommended but not required. The programme page states only that international applicants must supply proof of English proficiency without naming a test, deferring to Niagara College's institution-wide scale for undergraduate diplomas and certificates: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band under 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 with a minimum of 20 in Writing and Speaking, Duolingo English Test 105+ with no subscore under 95, PTE Academic 58+ with no skill under 53, or CAEL 60 with no band under 50. Students need a Windows 10 system with a 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM, webcam, microphone, and broadband internet of at least 5 Mbps; the college does not support Chromebooks or Apple devices for this program.

Application Deadline:Niagara College's equal-consideration deadlines apply equally to domestic and international applicants to competitive programs, published for the 2026-2027 cycle: for September 2026 entry the date was 1 February 2026, for January 2027 entry it is 5 June 2026, and for May 2027 entry it is 30 October 2026, each followed roughly three weeks later by a document deadline and an earliest-offer date. All other programs, the majority, are processed first-come, first-served starting each November for both domestic and international applicants, with offers issued until seats fill or the term begins. Niagara does not publish which named programs currently hold competitive status. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
