Overview
The ACP program at Niagara College is designed to allow working and non-working PCP’s return for training in advance paramedic skill, offering full time classes over a 2 day period. While taking the ACP program, I was able to secure part-time employment as a PCP for Niagara EMS and continue studying. The high fidelity simulation labs enhanced my practical skills and having active Advance Care Paramedic’s involved as my faculty ensured I was obtaining the most current information.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Diploma, current A-EMCA Certification (or equivalent, pending status accepted) from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, a letter of employment under a Base Hospital Medical Authority, and a minimum score of 70% on a pre-admission test covering primary-care theory. The programme page does not publish English-language test scores; per Niagara College's institution-wide requirement for graduate certificate and degree programs, applicants whose first language is not English need IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band under 5.5, TOEFL iBT 85 with a minimum of 22 in Writing and Speaking, Duolingo English Test 120 or higher with no subscore below 100, PTE Academic 60 or higher with no skill below 57, Cambridge English 176 with no skill under 169, or CAEL 60 with no band under 50. Applicants must be 18 or older, provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening less than six months old before Term 3 placement, complete a Communicable Disease Surveillance form, hold current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level BLS/HCP certification, and pass a Physical Evaluation Test in under 3 minutes 50 seconds, lifting 210 pounds with a partner.

Application Deadline:Niagara College's equal-consideration deadlines apply equally to domestic and international applicants to competitive programs, published for the 2026-2027 cycle: for September 2026 entry the date was 1 February 2026, for January 2027 entry it is 5 June 2026, and for May 2027 entry it is 30 October 2026, each followed roughly three weeks later by a document deadline and an earliest-offer date. All other programs, the majority, are processed first-come, first-served starting each November for both domestic and international applicants, with offers issued until seats fill or the term begins.
