Overview
The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) emphasizes the knowledge and skills relevant to both Indigenous and mainstream individuals, families and communities. You will increase knowledge and skills based on an Indigenous perspective and contemporary social work practice. Through classroom experience and critical analysis, you are encouraged to design an ethical social work framework valuing diversity, equality, respect and the dignity and worth of all persons. Graduates of the program will have greater knowledge, skills and abilities to practice social work with diverse populations. The BSW program is fully accredited by the Canadian Association for Social Work Education.

Minimum GPA:2.33 / 4.33
Admission Requirements: One of three pathways: (1) General University Studies -- minimum 54 transferable credits including 3 credits of academic English composition (ENGL 110 or equivalent) or 6 credits of English literature, SOCW 200A and SOCW 200B, minimum GPA 2.33 (C+); (2) Combined Human Service & General University Courses -- 54+ credits with the same English requirement, SOCW 200A/200B, and a completed Human Service Worker/Social Work diploma, minimum GPA 2.67 (B-); (3) Certificate or Diploma in a related social-services field with SOCW 200A and SOCW 200B (or equivalents), minimum GPA 2.67 (B-), with up to 12 discretionary credits possible. PSYC 213 and PSYC 223 are recommended before or during year 3/4.
