BA/BS in Nursing - RPN to BScN Blended Learning

This Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RPN to BScN Blended Learning), offered as an Honours Specialization, is a bridging pathway for Registered Practical Nurses delivered in a blended format that combines online theory courses with clinical placements arranged in the student's own region, with intakes in fall and winter. The curriculum covers advanced health assessment and nursing skills, pharmacology and medication management, mental health nursing and therapeutic communication, nursing care across the lifespan including pediatrics, maternity, and gerontology, leadership, ethics, and professional practice, and community, population, and Indigenous health. Students complete more than 1,400 hours of clinical experience across four clinical practice placements in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health clinics, and home healthcare settings. Admission requires prior completion of a Practical Nurse diploma and current employment at one of the university's partner health care agencies. The pathway is approved by the College of Nurses of Ontario and is eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit.
