Program details

Overview

The curriculum includes an operations management component covering how production and service layouts are planned to support efficiency, and how supply chain, logistics and inventory strategies fit an organisation's wider strategic plan. Students assess product and service design processes, benchmarking practices, and quality control and assurance systems, and apply both qualitative and quantitative methods to day-to-day operational decisions such as scheduling production and staff. The component also covers the mathematical models used in operations decision-making and requires students to communicate analysis results clearly to the managers involved.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Domestic applicants need an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with Grade 12 English (C or U) and Grade 11 Math (C or U), or equivalent qualifications; Northern College offers free Academic Upgrading for applicants missing these prerequisites. Applicants whose secondary education was completed in a country where English is the official language of instruction may submit alternate proof of proficiency in place of a test score.
