Trades - Apprenticeship in Automotive Service Technician

Automotive Service Technician is a compulsory, certified trade regulated under Ontario's Trades Qualification and Apprenticeship Act. In-school training is delivered across three levels, covering shop and work practices, engine systems, electrical and electronic systems, emission-control systems, drivetrain systems, suspension and steering, brake systems, and air-conditioning systems. Instruction is delivered on-campus in day-release format alongside employer-based on-the-job training required to complete the apprenticeship. Apprentices must be registered in the Automotive Service Technician trade to enrol in the in-school training levels. On completion of the full apprenticeship, including required practical hours and a trade examination, apprentices are awarded a Certificate of Apprenticeship and a Certificate of Qualification.
