The Business Studies Certificate allows you to focus on a specific discipline from accounting, business computer applications, entrepreneurship and small business management, financial services, human resources management, management, marketing, tourism and hospitality management, and healthcare professionals. This program may be of interest if you already employed. All Business Studies Certificates require the use of Microsoft Office software and computer experience is recommended.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Okanagan College's Business Studies Certificate follows the college's standard academic route: B.C. secondary-school graduation or the equivalent, English 12 or an approved alternative, and mathematics at a minimum of 50 per cent in one of Pre-Calculus 11, Foundations of Mathematics 11, Principles of Mathematics 11, Applications of Mathematics 11, Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics 11, Apprenticeship Mathematics 11, or the equivalent Adult Basic Education course, or a score of at least 16/25 on the college's own Mathematics Diagnostic Test. Mature applicants (19 years or older, out of full-time secondary study for at least a year) have the graduation requirement waived but must still meet the English and mathematics standards. No IELTS, TOEFL or other language-test score is published for this program. Applicants who fall short of the English or math bar may still be admitted as qualifying students with restricted enrolment, and a personal laptop meeting the program's specifications is required.
