Recreation Vehicle Service Technician Foundation Certificate is a foundation in Upgrading/upskilling programme taught at Okanagan College in Kelowna, Canada. The programme runs for 31 weeks, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition is CAD 5,300 per total for local students.
This one-year foundation certificate, described by the college as the only entry-level Recreation Vehicle Service Technician program of its kind in Canada, runs full-time over 31 weeks (950 hours) of classroom and lab work at the Kelowna Trades Complex. It introduces students with little or no prior experience to RV maintenance, repair techniques, and shop safety, and includes an industry work placement that gives students exposure to a real RV service environment before graduation. On completion, graduates are credited with Level 1 apprenticeship technical training and 550 hours of practical credit recognized by SkilledTradesBC toward a Recreation Vehicle Service Technician apprenticeship, giving them a running start once they find an apprenticeship employer. Admission requires B.C. secondary school graduation or equivalent, a minimum grade in English 10, and a specified math requirement. The program calls for physical strength to handle heavy equipment and components, good manual dexterity, sound eyesight, and tolerance for noise and vibration in a shop setting. It suits people with no prior trade background who want a structured entry point into RV service work before pursuing formal apprenticeship.
