Program details
Overview
This program strengthens subject understanding and study skills while covering a set of prerequisite courses, among them physics, math, English, chemistry, and biology, and rounds things out with social studies, computer science, and coursework geared toward college success.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This program awards the BC Adult Graduation Diploma, the 'Adult Dogwood', to students aged 18 or over who complete five qualifying courses: a provincial-level English course or higher, an advanced-level or higher mathematics course, and three further provincial-level or higher courses, or, alternatively, an advanced social-studies course plus two further provincial-level courses. Courses already completed at post-secondary institutions, secondary schools, or through workplace or other recognised learning can be credited toward these five. No specific admission grade, GPA, or English-language test score such as IELTS or TOEFL is published for entry; instead Selkirk's upgrading instructors and college counsellors work with each student individually to determine which of their existing courses count toward the five required for the Adult Dogwood, and to plan any additional upgrading needed.
Application Details
Application Deadline:Selkirk College's general programmes admit on a rolling, first-qualified-first-admitted basis: applications for Fall 2027 open 1 October 2026, Winter 2028 applications open 1 February 2027, and Spring 2028 applications open 1 June 2027, with no fixed closing date. Both domestic and international applicants apply through EducationPlannerBC, or international applicants may instead apply directly to Selkirk with a $100 application package; admission stays rolling until seats fill. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is competitive-entry with its own published timeline for the 2027/28 intake. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
