Overview
The Veterinary Technical Assistant Certificate is a four-month, on-campus programme at Olds College that introduces students to veterinary industry practices and small-animal care. Students learn patient preparation, animal handling, and veterinary equipment use, working alongside Veterinary Technology Diploma and Medical Receptionist students in a real hospital environment. The curriculum combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience to prepare graduates for entry-level roles supporting veterinary teams. Admission requires minimum grades in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and a science course, along with proof of English language proficiency for applicants whose first language is not English. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants need 50% or better in English Language Arts 30-1 or 30-2, 50% or better in Math 20-1 or 20-2, and 50% or better in one of Biology 20, Chemistry 20, or Science 20. All applicants must meet the English Language Proficiency Requirement.
