Experimental Animation is a four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Design (Honours) programme at OCAD University focused on animation as a contemporary art form. Students work across traditional and digital media, including 2D and 3D animation, stop-motion, digital compositing and augmented and virtual reality, while developing an individual artistic voice. The curriculum allows students to take electives beyond animation, drawing on other art and design disciplines across the university. Instruction is full-time and based at OCAD's downtown Toronto campus. Admission requires official transcripts, a statement of intent and a portfolio. Graduates go on to work in animation studios, independent film and art practice, visual effects, game and interactive media production, or continue to graduate study in animation, film or related fields.
