Overview
This program leads to a Bachelor of Arts with an honours major, general major, or minor in English Literature at Redeemer University's Ancaster, Ontario campus. Coursework combines close reading and critical analysis of texts with survey courses on specific genres, styles, and time periods, spanning British and American literature, drama, and poetry, alongside specialized seminars such as Shakespeare and postcolonial literature. Applicants from outside Ontario follow the university's general admission page. For English proficiency, the program defers to Redeemer's institution-wide requirement for non-native speakers: TOEFL iBT 86, Academic IELTS 6.5, CAEL 70, PTE 56, or Duolingo English 110, with an exemption for applicants who completed secondary or university study in English or have lived at least four years in an English-speaking country.
