Ammunition Technology Certificate

The Ammunition Technology Certificate at Royal Military College of Canada provides a basic understanding of the sciences underlying the chemistry of ammunition and explosives, the principles of propulsion and ballistics, and the metallurgy and principles of weapon systems. Completion requires the equivalent of five one-credit courses plus a mandatory seminar and industrial tour. Admission is restricted to Canadian Armed Forces members who have first been selected for the Ammunition Technical Officer Course; it is not open to the general student population. The certificate is offered through RMC's Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in Kingston, Ontario, delivered on-campus alongside the college's laboratory facilities. On completion, students receive documentation of specialized coursework supporting their qualification as Ammunition Technical Officers within the Canadian Armed Forces.
