Technology Foundations is a one-year Ontario College Certificate that introduces students to a range of engineering technology disciplines, including robotics, architecture and construction, computer programming, electrical, civil, mechanical design, and woodworking. Delivered over two academic terms at the Cambridge - Fountain Street campus, the program combines hands-on lab work with applied theory so students can explore different specializations before choosing a diploma pathway. Coursework upgrades students' mathematics to the level required for Conestoga's engineering technology programs and builds a foundation in physics and computer applications, alongside study and time-management skills. Students who complete the program with a minimum overall average of 65%, including a minimum 65% average across both math courses combined, and who apply simultaneously through Ontario Colleges are guaranteed admission to the first year of many of the college's engineering technology programs, with some earned credits transferring directly into those programs.
