Queen's University is a public research university in Kingston, Ontario, established by royal charter in 1841 and one of Canada's U15 research-intensive institutions.
Enrolment stood at 28,561 full-time students in 2025-26, including 7,368 graduate students, with 3,199 international students drawn from 123 countries; China, India and the United Kingdom are the largest sources. Teaching is organised across faculties of Arts and Science, Health Sciences, Education and Law, together with Smith Engineering and the Smith School of Business, and graduate work is administered by the School of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs.

Buchan Department of Mining, the School of Computing, and the Bachelor of Nursing Science. Undergraduate tuition is assessed on a per-unit basis for most plans and varies sharply by faculty: 2026-27 international rates run from $44,809.80 for Arts and Science to $60,839.46 for Commerce, against $6,204.60 to $16,613.19 for Ontario students.
Most first-year students live in residence on the limestone campus beside Lake Ontario, where 2026-27 fees including a mandatory meal plan range from $13,100.80 to $20,330.80 for the September-to-April period.
