Developed with industry experts, this three-course, 9-credit certificate builds skills in destination development, corporate responsibility, strategic marketing, and sustainable management for the tourism sector. Aimed at emerging or experienced leaders in the tourism and hospitality industry, it lets students customize their learning by choosing courses that match their interests while developing marketing, strategy, and leadership skills. The certificate can be completed fully online, fully on campus, or through a blended mix of both. Standard admission calls for a four-year undergraduate degree, normally with a minimum B grade point average, plus at least two years of full-time work experience in the tourism or hospitality industry; flexible admission considers applicants with less formal education but significant industry experience, including at least seven years of progressive work experience with three years in a leadership role. Students can take the certificate as a standalone credential or apply its credits toward the Master of Arts in Tourism Management, the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, or the Master of Business Administration in Executive Management.

Admission Requirements: Standard admission requires completion of a four-year (or comparable) undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, normally with a minimum GPA of 'B' (3.00/4.33), plus at least two years of full-time work experience in the tourism or hospitality industry. Flexible admission assesses the combination of work experience, education and professional development: applicants with no post-secondary education normally need at least seven years of progressive work experience, three in a leadership role, while those with some post-secondary education short of the four-year requirement are adjudicated case-by-case with weight on work experience. The programme page defers to Royal Roads University's institution-wide English language requirement for applicants whose first language is not English or who were not educated in English: for third-year-entry and graduate programs, IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with a minimum 6.5 in writing and speaking and 6.0 in listening and reading, or TOEFL iBT 88 overall with a minimum 24 in writing and 20 in listening, reading and speaking. Applicants also submit official transcripts, a detailed résumé and reference letters.

RRU consistently closes a programme's application exactly three calendar months before that programme's own intake start date — a September 2027 intake typically closes 7 June 2027 — though a few programmes (the Master of Global Management, for example) use a six-month lead instead. Each programme lists its own upcoming intakes, running from 2026 into 2028 depending on the programme, and RRU says it may still accept a late application if space and processing time remain, but it publishes no separate international deadline and no institution-wide equal-consideration or rolling policy. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
