Program details
Overview
A six-month online graduate certificate for practising executive and business coaches who want to extend their range rather than start from scratch. The curriculum works through advanced coaching psychology and practice, coaching across cultures, and coaching groups and teams as well as individuals, with attention to building a culture of coaching and mentorship inside organizations. Courses are aligned with the core competencies of the International Coach Federation and carry Continuing Coach Education credit, with 24 CCE units for each course, among them Ethics & the Coaching Profession (ADVC670) and The Psychology of Coaching (ADVC660). Credits can later be transferred into Royal Roads master's programs, including the MBA, the MGM, the MA in Tourism Management and the MA in Interdisciplinary Studies.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Standard admission requires a four-year (or comparable) undergraduate or graduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, prior coaching education such as Royal Roads' own Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching or an acceptable alternative, and normally at least three years of full-time experience as an internal or external executive coach. Flexible admission instead requires relevant coaching education plus at least five full-time years of relevant coaching experience. Applicants submit a one-page personal statement, a detailed resume and two reference letters; no minimum GPA is stated, and an ICF PCC credential is required only for the optional ADVC 680 course, not for admission. English-language proficiency defers to Royal Roads' general requirement for third-year entry and graduate programs: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (minimum 6.5 in writing and speaking, 6.0 in listening and reading) or TOEFL iBT 88 overall (minimum 24 writing, 20 in listening, reading and speaking).
Application Details
Application Deadline:Royal Roads University sets no single university-wide deadline: domestic and international applicants apply directly to the university through the same process, and every programme page checked shows one identical deadline for both. RRU consistently closes a programme's application exactly three calendar months before that programme's own intake start date — a September 2027 intake typically closes 7 June 2027 — though a few programmes (the Master of Global Management, for example) use a six-month lead instead. Each programme lists its own upcoming intakes, running from 2026 into 2028 depending on the programme, and RRU says it may still accept a late application if space and processing time remain, but it publishes no separate international deadline and no institution-wide equal-consideration or rolling policy. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
