Requirements
Admission Requirements: DOMESTIC ACADEMIC ENTRY: an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or mature-applicant status; English at Grade 12 C or U; and biology at Grade 11 C or U, or equivalent courses. Canadian citizens and permanent residents may satisfy the English and/or mathematics requirement through Seneca's pre-admission test. Admission is highly competitive - applicants are ranked on academic strength in English and biology, and only the top-ranked are offered a seat.
Before promotion into semester two you must clear a Clearance Review through Concise Health: prophylactic rabies vaccination in line with Health Canada guidance, and bloodwork confirming rabies immunity at an antibody titre of at least 0.5 IU/mL.
Physical demands: lifting 25 kg unassisted and handling small domestic animals (cats, dogs and rodents) as well as farm animals (horses, sheep and cattle). On-campus animal care is a compulsory part of second semester, with assigned clinical shifts that can begin at 6:30 a.m. and finish at 7 p.m., weekends included.
International applicants must present credentials assessed as equivalent to the Ontario prerequisites above and meet Seneca's certificate/diploma English standard: IELTS Academic 6.0 with no skill under 5.5, PTE Academic 58, CAEL 60, Duolingo 105-110, Cambridge English 169 with no skill under 162, or TOEFL iBT with no skill under 4/6 (20/30). Tests must be less than two years old.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants (Canadian citizens and permanent residents) apply through OntarioColleges.ca. For the September 2027 intake, OCAS opens for applications on 1 October 2026, the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, first offers go out from 1 November 2026, and the earliest confirmation deadline is 1 May 2027 with a CAD 200 deposit due the second Wednesday of June 2027. The January 2027 and May 2027 intakes opened on 1 October 2025 and carry no equal-consideration date, with earliest confirmation deadlines of 1 November 2025 and 1 March 2027. International applicants apply directly to Seneca, are assessed on a rolling basis with no fixed closing date, and are admitted up to the first day of classes or until a program fills, whichever comes first. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
