Overview
Are you looking forward to working in the fast-paced legal industry? This two-year legal paraprofessional program will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to work alongside lawyers on their cases in a corporate, government or law firm setting. The curriculum is taught by legal professionals with extensive experience who will focus your learning on real estate, corporate and commercial law, litigation, wills and estates, and family law. Through workshops, law firm tours, court visits, career preparation events, a field placement and speaking engagements, you’ll acquire the technical skills, principles and ethics required for practise.

Admission Requirements: Domestic admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or acceptance as a mature applicant, with English at the Grade 12 C or U level or an equivalent course as the stated subject prerequisite; Grade 12 mathematics and Grade 11 Canadian history are recommended but not required. Canadian citizens and permanent residents short of the English prerequisite may instead pass Seneca's pre-admission test, and the college directs applicants who do not meet subject requirements to upgrading options. Good keyboarding skills are described as essential to success in the program. International applicants must additionally meet Seneca's own published English-language requirement, with further documents or assessments requested where needed; neither this program's page nor its admission-requirements page states an IELTS, TOEFL or other numeric test score, or a minimum grade average. A mature-applicant pathway (19 by the first day of classes) is available, under which the OSSD is waived but the program's subject prerequisites still apply.
