“The Liberal Arts program helped to set me up for success in my current program. At Seneca, I was taught the critical thinking skills needed for academic reading and writing – an important building block to succeed in an arts degree program. I have peers in university who do not have this same experience or knowledge because they were admitted directly from high school. Many of my current classmates have told me that they wish that they had done at least one year at college so they could have acquired applied/practical skills.”

Admission Requirements: Domestic admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or acceptance as a mature applicant, with the only stated subject prerequisite being English at the Grade 12 C or U level or an equivalent course. Canadian citizens and permanent residents who fall short of the English prerequisite may instead qualify by passing Seneca's pre-admission test, and applicants who do not meet the academic subject requirement are directed to Seneca's upgrading options. International applicants must additionally satisfy Seneca's own institution-wide English-language requirement, with further documents or assessments requested where needed; neither this program's page nor its admission-requirements page publishes an IELTS, TOEFL or other numeric test score, or a minimum grade average for this University Transfer diploma. A mature-applicant pathway (19 by the first day of classes) waives the OSSD itself while the English prerequisite still applies.
