Overview
Three-year advanced diploma for future civil engineering technologists covering highway, municipal and building design, geotechniques, soil mechanics, building code, materials testing and surveying, using software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroSurvey and ArcGIS. Capstone projects and technical reports cap the program, which is accredited by Technology Accreditation Canada and requires a minimum C in the Strength of Materials course. Based at Newnham Campus with January, May and September starts.

Admission Requirements: Domestic admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or entry as a mature applicant (19 by the first day of classes), in which case the OSSD is waived but the programme's own subject prerequisites still apply. The stated subject requirements are English at the Grade 12 C or U level, or an equivalent course, and Mathematics at Grade 12 C or U, or Grade 11 Functions (MCR3U), or an equivalent course. Canadian citizens and permanent residents who are short of the English and/or Mathematics prerequisite can instead qualify by passing Seneca's pre-admission test, and the college lists upgrading options for applicants who do not meet the subject requirements.
