Overview
In this eight-month graduate certificate program, you will work with innovative and disruptive technologies used in the financial service sector. The program’s expert faculty will outline best practices for product development and entrepreneurship and enhance your understanding of privacy, ethics and the regulatory landscape of financial technology. The program covers topics including cybersecurity, web application and mobile development as well as data analytics for financial services.

Admission Requirements: Admission requires an Ontario university or college degree, diploma, or equivalent. Applicants with an equivalent combination of academic study and recent related work experience may be considered through Prior Learning Assessment, and must submit a resumé and references. The English-language requirement here is Seneca's institution-wide policy for master's and graduate-certificate programs, set out on Seneca's English Proficiency page: it is waived for applicants with three years of full-time secondary study, or two full-time years of college/university undergraduate study, in a country where English is the official or common language; otherwise Seneca accepts IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT with no single skill score below 22/30, Duolingo minimum 120, or PTE minimum 60. Canadian citizens or permanent residents educated outside Canada must also provide a WES or ICAS credential evaluation.

The January 2027 and May 2027 intakes opened on 1 October 2025 and carry no equal-consideration date, with earliest confirmation deadlines of 1 November 2025 and 1 March 2027. International applicants apply directly to Seneca, are assessed on a rolling basis with no fixed closing date, and are admitted up to the first day of classes or until a program fills, whichever comes first.
