Program details

Overview

Eight-month graduate certificate at Newnham Campus providing advanced project management expertise and a deep understanding of the information technology industry. Students learn to select and apply the right methodologies for different IT projects, managing scope, timing and quality, with all courses scheduled on weekday evenings and weekends to accommodate working professionals. The curriculum provides the theory and professional development units needed to write Project Management Institute qualifying exams, including the CAPM, PMP and PMI Agile Certified Practitioner credentials. Hybrid delivery with January, May and September starts.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Entry requires an Ontario university or college degree, college diploma or the equivalent in software development or information technology administration; applicants with an unrelated diploma may instead qualify with a minimum of two years of full-time experience in information technology administration, supported by a resume and references. Canadian citizens or permanent residents educated outside Canada must submit a credential evaluation from WES or ICAS. For English, the programme page defers to Seneca's institution-wide requirement, stating only that applicants must meet 'English proficiency for graduate certificates' without publishing a score. Per Seneca's general admission requirements, domestic Canadian citizens and permanent residents normally satisfy this through enough prior study in English, with a formal test required only where that cannot be shown, and no minimum is published for this credential (Seneca publishes a score only for the Honours Bachelor of Aviation Technology, IELTS Academic 6.5). International applicants must separately meet Seneca's published English requirements.
