Program details

Overview

Work-term stream of the Public Relations – Corporate Communications graduate certificate, combining two semesters of coursework in media relations, strategic communications and digital skills with a work placement similar in length to an academic semester that may be paid or unpaid. Seneca lists this stream as the Work Term Option (PRCC): eligibility requirements must be maintained, additional fees apply and the job search is student-driven with in-class career workshops and one-on-one coaching; students can transfer to the non-work-term stream at any time.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Entry requires an Ontario university or college degree, college diploma or the equivalent; applicants may instead qualify through an equivalent combination of partial postsecondary study and at least two years of related work experience, supported by a resume and references. Canadian citizens or permanent residents educated outside Canada must submit a credential evaluation from WES or ICAS. For English, the programme page defers to Seneca's institution-wide requirement, stating only that applicants must meet 'English proficiency for graduate certificates' without publishing a score. Per Seneca's general admission requirements, domestic Canadian citizens and permanent residents normally satisfy this through enough prior study in English, with a formal test required only where that cannot be shown, and no minimum is published for this credential (Seneca publishes a score only for the Honours Bachelor of Aviation Technology, IELTS Academic 6.5). International applicants must separately meet Seneca's published English requirements.
