Overview

This interdisciplinary program teaches engineering principles and how they apply within healthcare settings, preparing graduates for roles in healthcare technology management. Students study different categories of hospital equipment and the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance work involved in keeping it running, with hands-on practice and virtual reality training sessions reinforcing the coursework.

Admission Requirements: Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with the majority of credits at the College (C), University (U), University/College (M) or Open (O) level, Grade 12 English (ENG4U, ENG4C, EAE4C or EAE4U) and Grade 12 Mathematics at the C or U level (Foundations for College Mathematics MCT4C recommended); senior-level Biology at the C or U level is recommended. The programme page notes that domestic applicants who meet the Grade 12 English requirement satisfy the language condition, but sets no test scores of its own for other applicants; St. Clair's institution-wide standard for diploma and certificate programmes applies to international applicants: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall, TOEFL iBT 60 overall, PTE Academic 52, CAEL 60, or Duolingo 110. Mature applicants without an OSSD may qualify through the college's general admission-procedures page. No portfolio, interview or work-experience requirement is stated for this three-year advanced diploma.
