Overview
Centennial College's Biomedical Engineering Technology program has been designed to meet the need for qualified professionals caused by the merger between the biomedical equipment industry and the engineering and scientific disciplines. These collaborations have created beneficial innovations for both health care and society, and require the industry to meet the challenge of offering a range of quality products. Artificial organs, prostheses and medical instruments wouldn't exist without biomedical engineering. Providing an optimum balance between theory and hands-on labs, this engineering program will cover various principles in the design of medical equipment, rehabilitation and health improvement devices. Among them will be: Electronics Biomedical Sciences Applied Engineering Technology, Microcontrollers The technical problem-solving skills you'll gain will prepare you for a challenging career. Please note: Qualified college or university graduates with a background in electronics can gain direct admission into Semester 3 of this three-year program and receive their Biomedical Engineering Technology advanced diploma in four semesters (program #3427) or four semesters plus two work terms with the co-op option (program #3437).

Admission Requirements: This advanced diploma requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or mature-applicant status at 19 or older, plus Grade 12 English at the C or U level (or Centennial's own English Admission Test) and Grade 11 Mathematics at the M or U level or Grade 12 Mathematics at the C or U level, or Centennial's Engineering Math Skills Assessment for Admission. The program page defers its English-proficiency standard to Centennial's institution-wide requirement, which for advanced-diploma programs sets IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 81 with Reading at least 19 and Writing at least 23, and PTE Academic 58. Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca; international applicants apply directly to Centennial. No minimum entry GPA is published; a 2.5 cumulative GPA is required only to continue into the program's optional co-op stream. The availability table currently lists only a Winter 2027 (January) intake.

Application Deadline:Centennial publishes no application deadline for this program; what follows is the Ontario college cycle that governs it. Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for a program starting in Fall 2027 the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, and applications arriving after it are still assessed, but first-come first-served while places remain. Across the Ontario college system the application opened on 26 September 2026, offers may be issued from 1 November 2026, and an offer must be accepted by 1 May 2027. One $150 fee covers up to five program choices. International applicants apply directly to Centennial through its own international application process and are assessed on a rolling basis across the Fall, Winter and Summer intakes; the college publishes no fixed international closing date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
