Overview
This degree program was the first of its kind in Canada. It provides comprehensive studies in the rapidly growing field of Behavioural Psychology. By combining classroom instruction plus 1,100 hours of supervised placement in community settings, our students graduate with excellent applied skills as well as the theoretical knowledge they need to prepare them for their careers, or further studies. Governments and agencies are increasingly recognizing behavioural approaches as “best practices” in many fields such as autism, corrections, mental health services, education, developmental disabilities, and more. This honours degree program joins the well-established Behavioural Science diploma program and maintains St. Lawrence College’s national leadership position in the human services field.

Admission Requirements: Admission requires one of: an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum 65% prerequisite average across six Grade 12U or 12M courses including Grade 12 English at the U level and Grade 11 Math at the C, U or M level (Grade 12 MDM4U preferred); completion of a college diploma with a minimum 2.50 GPA; or one year of full-time university study with a minimum 2.50 GPA. English-language proficiency follows the institution's requirement for Fast-Track, Graduate Certificate and Degree programmes: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 83, PTE Academic 60, or Duolingo English Test 120 overall with no sub-score below 95. Because the programme includes field or clinical placements, admitted students must pass a Criminal Background Check (certain convictions may bar placement participation) and complete a Pre-Placement Health Form with immunization records. The college also recommends strength in written and oral communication and a good grasp of scientific method.
