Trades - Apprenticeship in Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship

This program delivers the in-school study portion of the Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship for students already registered and working in the trade, at the Cornwall campus School of Skilled Trades. In-school blocks cover engine systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, powertrains, steering, suspension and brakes, alongside applied shop practice including workplace safety, welding and air conditioning systems. Instruction is delivered in person over a series of nine-to-eleven-week blocks, one for each level of the apprenticeship, with a certificate awarded on completion of each level. Admission requires apprentices to be sponsored by an employer and registered with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development; there is no separate academic entry route, as apprentices alternate between in-school training at the college and on-the-job work with their sponsoring employer.
