The Peace Studies Certificate is an interdisciplinary program offered through the College of Arts and Science at the University of Saskatchewan, delivered at St. Thomas More College. It requires 18 credit units, including the mandatory courses CPSJ 112.3 and CPSJ 310.3, 3 credit units chosen from a specified list of electives, and 9 further credit units selected from an extensive list of interdisciplinary courses spanning Political Science, Religious Studies, History, Anthropology, Indigenous Studies, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, English, Philosophy, and International Studies. The program studies peace, conflict, reconciliation, substantive justice, and nonviolent resistance, defining peace as extending beyond the absence of war to conditions such as social justice, gender and racial equality, and ecological health. At least half of the required coursework must be completed at the University of Saskatchewan to satisfy residency requirements.

Admission Requirements: Direct entry from high school is available. The College of Arts and Science sets a minimum admission average of 70% on five subject high school average, or 60% on 18 or more transferable credit units for applicants with prior post-secondary study. English proficiency follows the University of Saskatchewan's general undergraduate standard: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (minimum 6.0 per band), TOEFL iBT 86 overall (minimum 19 per section) for tests taken before 21 January 2026 or 4.5 overall (minimum 4.0 per section) on the scale used from that date, Duolingo English Test 120 (minimum 100 per subscore), PTE Academic 63 (minimum 59 per skill), or CAEL 70 (minimum 60 per skill). A non-refundable application fee of $120 CAD applies.
