Program details

Overview

The ROMER Certificate fulfills the academic coursework requirements of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada's Recognition of Ministry Education Requirements credential and can be completed in one year. The programme is intended for students pursuing PAOC ministry credentialing rather than a general theological credential. Learning outcomes include developing a personal philosophy of ministry, understanding one's call to ministry, understanding Scripture in relation to vocational ministry, demonstrating leadership competence, and living a godly lifestyle consistent with ministry standards. The certificate is narrower in scope than the college's other ministry certificates, focusing specifically on the academic component of denominational credentialing rather than broad ministry training, and is typically taken by students who plan to pursue formal PAOC ministry credentialing after graduation. On completion, Summit Pacific College awards a one-year ROMER Certificate.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Applicants must have experienced a definite Christian conversion and demonstrate sound Christian character in keeping with accepted Christian standards. Academic eligibility requires Canadian Grade 12 completion or its equivalent in U.S. or international education systems; applicants who have not completed high school are considered individually by the Admissions Committee. Applicants must be able to finance the semester for which they enrol. A completed Application for Admission form with a $50 non-refundable application fee, three signed reference forms (from a pastor, a teacher or employer, and a friend over the age of 21), an official high school transcript, official transcripts from any post-secondary studies, a medical report, and a recent colour photograph are required.
