Program details

Overview

The Youth Ministry Certificate is a one-year, 10-course programme for students who want to serve in ministry to youth and emerging adults, ages 11 to 25. The curriculum combines theology, communication skills, and adolescent development theory with practical ministry training. Learning outcomes include integrating essential ministry knowledge, articulating a biblical philosophy of youth ministry, understanding contemporary issues affecting youth, developing communication skills, modelling leadership, equipping others for discipleship, and practicing Spirit-led ministry. The certificate is intended for students planning to work in church-based or parachurch youth ministry roles, providing both theological grounding and applied ministry skills for working with young people, and can be paired with the college's ROMER coursework for students pursuing PAOC credentialing. On completion, students are awarded a one-year Youth Ministry Certificate from Summit Pacific College.
